About Me

Xavier Martin is a US Coast Guard veteran and University of South Carolina alumnus. He last worked as a staff photographer for Lee Enterprises, working between five North Carolina newspapers, using a mix of photography, video, and writing to cover news, sports, business, and feature stories. In October 2023, he attended the prestigious Eddie Adams Workshop.

Martin's work earned recognition from the South Carolina Press Association and USC's School of Journalism and Mass Communications, where he was named the Senior Outstanding Photographer of the Year in 2024. With attention to detail ingrained from his military service, Xavier hopes to make a lasting impact in journalism and beyond through the transformative power of visual storytelling.
